Ralph Hugh McKain, 94, of Sullivan, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, at his residence. He was born in New Lebanon, Indiana, on April 27, 1914, to Homer and Anna (Ault) McKain. Ralph married Betty Silvis on August 13, 1937.

Ralph was a farmer, retiring in 2001. He was a member of New Beginnings Worship Center of Sullivan.

Survivors include his wife of over seventy years, Betty McKain, three children: Carol Jeanette Ammerman of Nevada, TX, Harley McKain and Judy Lynn (Darrell) Alexander all of Sullivan, eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Alta Hobbs and Hazel Jordan both of Sullivan.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, one son Ronnie McKain, one granddaughter Denise Lynn Alexander, one great-granddaughter Kristen Rae McKain, three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at New Beginnings Worship Center, 54 N. Beasley St., Sullivan, (one block N of East Washington St.) Thursday, June 26, 2008, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Randol Easton officiating. A private burial will take place on Friday, June 27, 2008 at Merom Cemetery in Merom, Indiana.

The family has requested contributions be made to New Beginnings Worship Center in Sullivan. Envelopes will be available at the church.

The family has entrusted Anderson-Poindexter Dugger Chapel with arrangements.
