Rev. John E. Like, 68, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 3, 2007, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. Born on December 29, 1938, he was the son of Euell and Ada L. (English) Like. On August 15, 1964, he married Joeann S. Miller.

John was a local pastor with United Methodist Church in the South Indiana Conference retiring in 2005.

Survivors include his wife, Joeann S. Like, one son, Joey Jay (Penny Reid) Like, of Bloomington, and a brother Allen Dean Like of Vincennes.

John was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

For those who wish to make memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, the family has named the American Heart Association and the American Lung Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Thursday, September 6, 2007. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 6, 2007, with Rev. Doug Witt officiating. Interment will follow at Sugarland Memorial Gardens in Washington, Indiana.
