Richard Earl Duvivier, 40, of Linton, IN, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, with his wife and mother at his side. He was born in Linton, IN, on March 8, 1973, to Lawrence and Patricia (Gullion) Gwaltney and later adopted by Fernard Duvivier, Jr. On April 8, 1995, Richard married Anita R. (Claycomb).
Richard was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. He was a pastor and had also been employed in factory work.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Duvivier; his mother Patricia (Gullion) Ellington & husband, Michael of Linton; two sisters, Christeena Divine of Ohio and Carman (Ellington) Roach & husband, Travis of Bloomfield; half-sisters, Danielle and Melissa Gwaltney of Bloomfield; and his Aunt, Terry Davis and husband, David of Linton.
Richard was preceded in death by his father Fernard Duvivier, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Fernard & Gabriella Duvivier; maternal grandparents, Richard & Mary Ann Gullion; paternal grandparents, Lawrence & Wilma Williams; maternal great-grandparents, Maurice & Jessie Shanklin; and a cousin, Jennifer Lacy.
A graveside service will be conducted at Fairview Cemetery on Friday, September 13, 2013, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Doug Cassel officiating.
The family has requested that contributions be made to the funeral home and/or the Roosevelt Mission in Richard's memory.
