Rita E. Bowersock, 65, of Linton, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. She was born on April 11, 1950 in Linton to Yocum and Viola B. (Davis) White.

Rita retired in 1990 with 22 years of service at the General Electric Linton Plant. She was a member of the VFW Post #7118 Ladies Auxiliary. Rita enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling, shopping and reading.

Survivors include: her companion, Jim Cary of Linton; son, Michael Bowersock of Florida; daughter: Dawn (Garry) Bowersock-Weddle of Linton; six grandchildren, Raven, Dylan, Raylan, Jordan, Jaylan and Zaydran; great-granddaughter, Adalynn; sister, Esther Swank of Clay City; nieces, Rachel and Sarah; nephew, Anthony and her aunt, Audrey Johnson.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Max Bowersock.

No public services or visitation is scheduled.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in memory of Rita to the Zion's Hill Baptist School, 3464 N 1500 W, Linton, IN 47441.
