Robert L. Moss, 88, of Linton, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born on June 24, 1926 in Linton, Indiana to Guy Leonard and Nona Frances (Floyd) Moss. Robert married his sweetheart, Rosella Jane Dyer on November 6, 1974.

Robert was a US Army World War II veteran who enjoyed collecting military memorabilia and being a World War II historian. He was the recipient of a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct, American Campaign, European-African-Middle Eastern, WWII Victory, Army of Occupational, Combat-Infantry, Honorable Service and French Medal of Honor awards during his military career. Robert was a member of the Linton First Christian Church, Linton Masonic Lodge #560 F&AM, VFW Post #7118, Loyal Order of the Moose and was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #22 and BPO Elks #866.

Survivors include: his wife, Rosella Moss; daughter, Debbie Phegley of Fairport, NY; step-son, David (Beth) Phegley of Merom; two sons, Terry (Brenda) Phegley of Mt. Carmel, IL and Steve (Cindy) Phegley of Linton; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one sister, Julia (George) Skeel of Linton; niece, Sandy (Jeff) Cox of Linton and great niece, Kristen (Austin) Witt.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. Mike Roth officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with full military honors.

Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, February 12 and from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 13.
