Ronald G. Hollingsworth, Sr., 69, of Linton, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born March 5, 1941, to Horace and Hazel (Brunson) Hollingsworth in Lyons, IN. On September 13, 1960, he married Donetta K. Sloan and they had three children.

Ronald was a Superintendent for Peabody Coal Company and a farmer, retiring in 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Donetta K. Hollingsworth of Linton; two sons, Ronnie G. (Misty) Hollingsworth and Michael P. Hollingsworth both of Linton; one daughter, Debbie L. (Jay Stollings) Hollingsworth; four grandchildren, Heather, Garrett, Jordan and Haley; and one great-grandson, Matthew.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Donald Hollingsworth.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 25, 2011 and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Saturday. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 26, 2011 with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
