Ronald Joe Sims, 74, of Odon, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, on Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was born on December 9, 1940 in Washington, Indiana to Robert A. and Helen Lucille (Dowden) Sims.

Ronald was a US Army veteran, a member of the Odon VFW Post #9627 and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge. He was employed in manufacturing at Westinghouse and then ABB. Ronald enjoyed traveling all over with his camper after he retired in 1997. He enjoyed hunting, trapping, flowers, gardening and he loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include: two sons, Travis (Sharon) Sims of Odon and Eric (Patty) Sims of Oriskany, NY; three grandchildren, Jason Sims, Courtney (Blake) Burkhart and Noah Sims; one great-granddaughter, Callaway Burkhart; his mother, Helen Sims of Odon; one brother, John (Nancy) Sims of Odon and one sister, Miranda Sims of Vincennes.

Ronald was preceded in death by: his father; one sister, Jenny Strange and one daughter, Debbie Sims.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Raglesville Cemetery with Pastor Gwen Pew officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Odon VFW Post #9627.

Family and friends may call at the Raglesville United Methodist Church from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, October 12.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Raglesville Park in memory of Ronald. Envelopes will be available at the church.
