Roy Stremming, 80, of Sandborn, went to Heaven surrounded by his loved ones at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on Tuesday, February 24th, 2015. He was born on May 10th, 1934 in Sandborn, Indiana to Edward Henry 'Duke' and Pearl A. (Hagemeier) Stremming. Roy married his high school sweetheart, Katrina McKee on July 25th, 1953.

Roy attended Scotland United Methodist Church and was a former long standing member of the Sandborn Lions Club. He received the Sagamore of the Wabash Award on May 13th, 2000. Roy was employed for 48 years in the telephone industry at various places and was a contract school bus driver for North Knox School Corporation for 36 years before retiring in 2000.

Survivors include: his wife, Katrina Stremming of Sandborn; two daughters, Anita Gilbert of Sandborn and Theresa (Jeff) Roudebush of Owensville; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Orvel (Virginia) Stremming of Sandborn; two sisters, Wilhelmine Blackwell of Odon and Senora (Glen) Roark of Wheatland.

Roy was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Ruth Roark and one son-in-law, Stanley Gilbert.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 28th, 2015 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with Rev. Robert Bruner officiating. Interment will follow in Sandborn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, February 27th at the funeral home and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 28th.
