Sara Elizabeth Hasler, 104, of Elnora, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on October 24, 1911 in Elnora, Indiana to Jack and Susie (Harmon) McCracken. Sara graduated from Elnora High School in 1929 and then married her husband, Guy Hasler, in 1935.

She was a loving wife and mother and a friend to many. She was a member of the Elnora Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Graham Farms until she retired to spend her winters in Florida with her family. She had many hobbies including reading, watching the news, and making beautiful quilts.

More recently, her favorite thing to do was visit with friends and take care of her beloved dog, Baby. And she never let a day go by without a nap and a bowl of ice cream.

Survivors include: one son, Peter Hasler of Clearwater, FL; three granddaughters, Lisa Vish and Sarah Kemelgor of New Albany, IN and Jennifer Hasler of McMinnville, OR; daughter-in-law, Dana Hasler of Oceanside, CA; six great-grandchildren; four nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Guy, her sister, Eloise, and sister-in-law, Ilene.

Sara was loved by many people in the community and she will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had many wonderful friends, who became like family, and looked out for her. Because of them, she was able to live her whole life at home and celebrate her 104th birthday there.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Elnora Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Debbie Payne officiating. Sara will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Elnora Fairview Cemetery.
