Sarah Maysel DeMotte, 96, of Loogootee, Indiana, formerly of Elnora, went to Heaven peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the Loogootee Nursing Center. She was born on February 26, 1919 in Daviess County, Indiana to Harvey G. and Orpha M. (Chanler) Byrer. Sarah married Calvin DeMotte on August 14, 1940.

Sarah was a member of the Odon Christian Church. She was a homemaker, farm wife and a wonderful cook who enjoyed her family.

Survivors include one niece, Judith K. Ligon of Atlanta, GA and one nephew, Irven R. Byrer of Odon.

Sarah was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Calvin DeMotte; her stillborn son, Richard DeMotte; sister, Daisy C. Roach; brother, Herschell Byrer and niece, Hazel May Roach.

Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Odon, Indiana with Bro. Richard Smith officiating.

Family and friends may call at the Odon Christian Church from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM on Thursday, November 12.
