Sharon Kay Flater, 79, of Linton, passed from this life to Heaven, on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Greene County General Hospital. She was born in Speedway, IN on July 14, 1944, to Floyd Edward and Mary Katherine (Fulford) Dozier.  On July 29, 1963, she became the wife of Raymond Albert Flater.

Sharon was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.  She had worked for the Putnamville Correctional Facility as a cook, retiring in 2016. Sharon enjoyed reading, watching the Chicago Bears football team and television in general. She especially cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family left to cherish Sharon's memory include a son, Brad Flater and daughter, Lana Barden both of Linton, 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She also survived by her sister, Karen Richards of Linton.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter, Melissa Dawn Anderson.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Meng Family Funeral Home-Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. Sharon will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.
