Shirley W. (Gibbs) Moore, 80, of Ellettsville formerly of Linton, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at Bloomington Hospital. She was born on December 16, 1927, in Sullivan County, Indiana to Raymond 'Bill' and Alma (Booker) Gibbs. She married Ned 'Wally' W. Moore on April 13, 1946.

Shirley worked at JCPenney in Linton as a Shoe Department Manager. She attended Happy Gospel church in Florida.

Survivors include her husband, Ned 'Wally' Moore of Elletsville; one son, Dave (Vickie) Moore of Elletsville; Grandchildren: Cindy English, Mark (Candice) Moore and Kristi Hornick; Great-grandchildren: Briana, Garrette, Jake, Ashton, Brycen and Keira; also surviving are her three sisters, Brenda Padgett and Linda Hauck, both of Linton and Carol Ann Plummer of Carlisle.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Alma Gibbs Shake and Raymond Gibbs, her step-mother, Martha Gibbs, two brothers, Herman and Donnie Gibbs and one sister, Barbara Rooksberry.

Friends may call at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2008 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Friday, October 31, 2008. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 31, 2008, at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with Pastor Bill Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, IN.
