Vena Ester (Dorraugh) Talbott, 95, of rural Linton, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Glenburn Home in Linton, IN. Born in Greene County, Indiana, on May 22, 1912, she was the daughter of Marvin E. and Maggie (Swango) Johnson. Fredrick Leo Dorraugh was Vena's first husband and after his death, she married a second time to John Edward Talbott.
Vena was a homemaker who enjoyed outdoor gardening, spending time with family and friends, and Sunday dinners at the farm highlighted by her homemade pies and fried chicken. She was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, James David Dorraugh, a granddaughter, Filinda Lu (Michael) Farris of Brazil, IN, a stepson, William J. (Pat) Talbott of Indianapolis, IN, a step-granddaughter, Julie (Ryan) Lechleidner of Indianapolis, IN, and a sister, Ruby Brothers of Westland, MI.
Vena was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers, Hubert & Chester Johnson, and two sisters, Dorothy Watson and Ruth Wells.
Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2008. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2008, with Rev. Doug Witt officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana.
