Violet M. Cornelius, age 90, of Linton, Indiana, passed away at 4:04 PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Linton on November 4th, 1925, the daughter of Beverage and Grace Jones.

Violet was a member of ST. Peter Church in Linton and ST. Ann Alter Society, where she devoted much of her time with others making noodles and crafts for their annual bazaar. She was employed as a secretary at Linton City Hall and worked at G.C. Murphy for many years as well. Violet was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who held a special place in all their hearts.

She is survived by her three granddaughters, Tamela (Timothy) Goodman, Robin (Shane) Haun and Lori (Timothy) Russell; nine great-grandchildren, Nicole Haun, Joshua (Danielle) Goodman, Jessica (Skylar) Anderson, Jordan (Lindsay) Goodman, Rachel Haun, Samantha Jackson, Joanna (Anthony) Sipes, Brickston (Travis) Jerrell and Stone Russell; three great-great-grandchildren, Cameron Goodman, Aiden Sipes and Reid Anderson.

Violet was preceded in death by: her spouse of 69 years, Arthur Cornelius; her parents; one daughter, Marilyn Joan Anderson; one brother, John Wessell and an infant sister, Linda Jones.

At her request, no funeral services will be conducted. Memorial contributions can be made to the Linton Food Pantry in memory of Violet.
