Obituary

Virginia M. Dickerson, 86, of Winfield, AL formerly of Linton, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 11, 2008, at Golden Living Center of Winfield. Born in Brazil, IN on Dec. 7th, 1921, she was the daughter of Phillip & Vinessie (Moore) Blair. She married Richard L. Dickerson on March 23, 1941.

Virginia had been employed by the Linton Radio Station, the Moore's Hardware and also the Johnson Hardware before retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Winfield 1ST United Methodist Church in Winfield.

Survivors include one son & daughter-in-law Chuck & Ginny Dickerson of Winfield, AL. Grandchildren include Gini King and (Chris Cruse) of Sullivan, Chip and (Amee) King of Terre Haute and Brandi Goodman of Winfield, AL. Great-grandchildren include Mackenzie Goodman of Winfield and Brianna & Gavin Baker of Terre Haute. She was also survived by one step-sister Phyllis Torrence of Peru and several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard L. Dickerson, daughter Judi Dickerson King, sisters Mable Pope, Maxine Owens and one brother Charles Blair.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2008. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Mark Messmer officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana.
