William M. 'Bill' Poe, 88, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He was born on February 10, 1929 in Linton to Claude W. and Henrietta (Armstrong) Poe. Bill married his loving wife, Phyllis A. Poe on January 22, 1950.

Bill was a US Air Force Korean War veteran. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Linton. Bill was employed as a salesman of fishing tackle, a manager of Oehler 5 to Dollar Store and a foreman at Keller Aluminum before he retired in 1986.

Survivors include: his wife, Phyllis Poe of Linton; two sons, Brad (Robin) Poe of Linton and Kenneth Poe of Terre Haute; two grandchildren, Rebekah (Tim) Bernard and Josh (Kaci) Poe and six great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Catherine A. Bough.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:30 AM on Friday, June 16 at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

There will be a private viewing from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in memory of Bill to the Greene County Humane Shelter, 1026 N 1375 W, Linton, IN 47441. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
