Wilma L. Kent, 85, of Sandborn, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at Freelandville Community Home. Born in Emison, Indiana, on July 13, 1923, she was the daughter of Raphael Wayne and Rosa Pearl (Fiscus) Curry.

Wilma worked at the General Electric Plant in Linton for 15 years and was an Avon Representative for 25 years. She was a member of the Sandborn Baptist Church. Wilma was an avid quilt maker and enjoyed baking, gardening and crafts.

Surviving family includes a one daughter, Linda Carpenter and friend Don, of Bargersville; three sons, Ned (Glenda) Kent of Lyons, David (Karlene) Kent of Shoals and Billy Joe (Mary) Kent of Brazil. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, one son Danny Kent (1985), one great-grandson, one great-great-granddaughter, one brother and one sister.

The family has requested memorial contributions to be made to the National Kidney Foundation or a Humane Society of your choice. Envelopes will be available at the church.

Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2009, and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Friday. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, May 22, 2009, at the funeral home with Larry Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sandborn Cemetery in Sandborn.
