Anthony 'Tony' E. Chamberlain Obituary

Anthony E. ‘Tony’ Chamberlain, Sr., 80, of Petersburg, Indiana, passed from this life with family by his side, on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg. He was born on March 20, 1945, in Linton, Indiana to Joseph F. and Margaret E. (Hudson) Chamberlain. Tony married the love of his life, Jean Marie (Davidson) Chamberlain on December 26, 1965.


Tony was a US Air Force Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He worked for Amax Coal Co. before moving to Texas working for Pabtex Export Co. Later, he moved back to Linton and retired from Gibson Coal Co. In his leisure time, Tony enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting.


Family left to cherish the memories of Tony include: two sons, Tony (Brenda) Chamberlain, Jr. of Petersburg and Chris (Paula) Chamberlain of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Cory, Michael, Heather, Kevin and Aiden; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Orin ‘Fred’ (Shirley) Chamberlain of Switz City and Richard (JoAnn) Chamberlain of Terre Haute.


Tony was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean Chamberlain; brothers, Ted J. Chamberlain, Larry A. Chamberlain and Garry Chamberlain; sisters, Barbara Godman and Darleen Goodman.


Funeral services to honor the life of Tony will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Bobby Cox officiating. Tony will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.


Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
