Betty J (Collins) Thomas

Betty J. Thomas, 88, of Linton, IN, passed from this life on  Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.  She was born on June 18, 1932 in Dugger, IN, to Hugh and Agnes (Swan) Collins.  On April 21, 1951 she married Warren ‘Houston’ Thomas.  They were married for 68 years before his passing in 2019.

Betty was a member of Oolitic Church of Christ.  She worked at General Electric, Linton Plant with several years of service.  Betty was a homemaker, mother and mamaw.

Family left to cherish Betty’s memory include: son, Tom (Cinda) Thomas of Switz City; daughter, Dawn (Dennis) Sullivan of Linton; five grandchildren, Chelsea (Matthew) Wilson, Kenton Thomas, Shannon (John) Hasler, Randy (Kim) Sullivan, Brandi Sullivan; five great-grandchildren, Waylon, Anna, Harlee, Nolan, Sierra and her twin brother, Bob Collins of Anderson.

Betty was preceded in death by: her parents: husband, W. Houston Thomas; two brothers, Bill and Hugh, Jr.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Ed Owens officiating.  Betty will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service at 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Following CDC guidelines, face masks will be required and continue with social distancing please.
