Billy G Singleton

Billy G. Singleton, 85, of Linton, passed from this life peacefully at home on Friday, December 31, 2021.  He was born on March 7, 1936, in Linton, IN, to William and Esther ‘Maxine’ (Stevenson) Singleton.  Billy married Evelyn (Miller) on October 30, 1954.

Billy attended the Assembly of God Church and was a member of the UMWA District 12.  He enjoyed archery competition, fishing, and hunting.  He was an avid hunter his entire life and passed this passion on to his family by including his wife, daughters and grandchildren in many hunting adventures.  Billy loved spending time with his family.

Family left to cherish the memory of Billy includes: daughters, Debra (Don) Litten, Melanie (Greg) Cravens and Rea (Art) Love, all of Linton; grandchildren, Heather Evans, Dawn Clayton, Steven Bays, Marc Summerville, Erica (Jared) Ruehrschneck, Amy (Kenny) Fulford, Andrea (Megan) Halstead, Rachel Lewis, Danielle (Andrew) Bredeweg and Makayla Love (Nathan Pickett); nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; a brother, Eddie (Tina) Singleton of Linton; four sisters, Judy (Robert) Chalfont of Fairfax, VA, Carol (Ralph) Fulford, Sandra Bentheimer, and Rhonda Tharp, all of Linton. 

Billy was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife, Evelyn (July 16, 2021) and a brother, Danny Ray Singleton.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022, at the Meng Family Funeral Home / Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Rev. Dick Smith officiating.  Billy will be laid to rest in the Linton Fairview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
