Carman T. Edmonson, 76, of Newburgh, passed away on August 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Linton, Indiana on July 5, 1947, to the late John Noel and Betty Lousie (Herndon) Powell.
Carman was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a proud and active member of her community where she coached softball for many years, raised funds for new playground equipment, booster club member for Castle High School, Warrick County school bus driver, and most recently, served as President for Park Place Residential Counsel. She was always there to help wherever it was needed. She loved playing bingo and was also an avid bowler for many years, but her greatest joy of all was spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was proud of each and every one of them for their individual accomplishments, great or small.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim Edmonson; children, Wilma Denise Morris, Beth Ann Gilles (Gary), Jami Lynn Ford; grandchildren, Leah Brooke (Joshua), Brandon Kyle, Carlie Ann, Caden Ty, Austin Lane Edmonson, Ashtin Mariah, Alexandria Ryanne, Mitch (Dani), Molly; great-grandchildren, Jayce, Aniyah, Aidyn, Kennedy Lou, Asher Robert, Lakelyn Renee, Alani Lynn and niece, Deana Sue Powell.
Carman is preceded in death by her parents and son, Hollis Brent Jackson.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana with Rev. Dick Smith officiating.
