Carolyn L. Sargent, 85, of Sandborn, Indiana, went to Heaven, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She was born on October 8, 1935 in Sandborn to Raymond ‘Casey’ Allen and Margaret ‘Maggie’ (Birdlow) Peden. Carolyn married the love of her life, Oral Kay Sargent on July 3, 1953.

Carolyn was a member of the Sandborn Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. Carolyn worked alongside her husband as a farmer. She was a homemaker and florist. Carolyn enjoyed arranging flowers, baking and sewing. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family.

Family left to cherish the memory of Carolyn include: her husband, Kay Sargent; three sons, Gary (Gretchen) Sargent of Florida, Greg (Lori) Sargent of Sandborn and Todd (Angie) Sargent of Worthington; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Sandborn Baptist Church with Pastor Alvaro Nieves officiating. Carolyn will be laid to rest in Sandborn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 12, and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandborn Baptist Church in memory of Carolyn. Envelopes will be available at the church.
