Eva Colleen Bowman, 93, of Sandborn, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at home, on Thursday, August 24, 2023. Colleen was born on November 3, 1929, in Westphalia, Indiana to James A. and Eva Lena (Higgs) Brower. Colleen married the love of her life, Rex E. Bowman, on June 26, 1949.

Colleen was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church, where she was Committee Chairman of funeral dinner planning. She served as the Sandborn Librarian for several years and enjoyed the many friends she made at the library.

Family left to cherish the memories of Colleen include: one son, Jerry (Kathy) Bowman of Sandborn; one daughter, Peggy (John) Grider of St. Peters, MO; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one sister, Helen Mason Wolfe of Vincennes. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rex Bowman; sister, Dorothy E. Gyneth; brothers, Jerry Brower, James Brower, Jr., Cleo Brower and Bill Brower.

Funeral services to honor the life of Colleen will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Bryan Sanders officiating. Colleen will be laid to rest in Sandborn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday, August 26 and from 12:00 Noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandborn Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
