Dale "Chief" Hardisty Obituary

Russell Dale ‘Chief’ Hardisty, 61, of Linton, Indiana, passed away with his family by his side, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on February 26, 1964, in San Diego, California to Jerry and Dearrela Jean (Brown) Hardisty.


Dale worked as a welder and pipefitter. He enjoyed outdoor activities, gardening, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, playing with his dog Layla, working out in his garage, making art and gifts for his family and friends.


Family left to cherish the memory of Dale include: his loving companion, Denise Bargar; two sons, Dalton (Leanne) Hardisty of Michigan and Dylan (Katelynn) Hardisty of Whitestown; two grandchildren, Everett and Adeline Hardisty; his father and step-mother, Jerry (Janet) Hardisty of Linton; one sister, Karen Lancaster of Atlanta, GA; two nephews, Cameron (Nicole) Lancaster and Nathan Lancaster.


Dale was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents and uncle, Bob Hardisty.


A Celebration of Life will be at 6:00 PM on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. Dale will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton at a later date.


Family and friends may call from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 6:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.


Memorial contributions may be made to NWTF. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
