Earl Enochs Jr.

Even though our hearts are breaking, Heaven rejoices! A good and faithful prayer warrior now walks on streets of gold.

Earl Enochs Jr. departed this earth on August 3, 2022. He was born on November 28, 1933, the 7th and youngest child of Earl T. Enochs and Grace Ellen Beck Enochs of Pleasantville, Indiana. He was adored by his older siblings, Ernest, Berniece, Elsie, Herschel, Doris (stillborn at birth) and Charles. All are now reunited and together for eternity in Heaven.

Earl was wedded in Holy Matrimony on May 22, 1953 to Kathleen Lucille Maxey. His blue-eyed sweetheart has been awaiting his arrival since May 27, 2010. She no doubt greeted him with open arms and a bountiful supper. Also, awaiting was a son, David Deon Enochs, who was stillborn on November, 1960, a granddaughter, Leah Marie Greene Otto on June 29, 2012, a grandson, Elijah Nathaniel Enochs, a great-grandson Phoenix Michael Akers and son-in-law, Roger John Michel.

Earl was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ his entire life. He was a mentor to many and an inspiration to all. He taught the Adult Sunday School Class and was an Elder in his church for many years. In his younger years, you would find him holding revivals as an Evangelist, singing and preaching with his family. His passion was to share the love of Christ and lead others to Him. Even in his final days, he fervently prayed for his family and friends daily.

Earl was a Korean War Era Veteran, who guarded the Berlin Wall with the Army 3rd Spearhead Armored Division. He proudly served his country and was the most patriotic man you would ever meet. He was a resident of Patoka, Indiana since 1956 and loved his community and his neighbors. Earl served on the volunteer Patoka Fire Department and was an active member of the Patoka Lions Club. He was a retiree of Hansen Manufacturing Corporation and Duke Energy.  He was a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Carrying on the legacy of Earl are his children: Janene Michel-Miller (Doyle) of Fort Branch, IN, who he resided with for the past two and a half years, Teresa Miller (Tom) of Keenesburg, IL and Jeffrey Enochs (Tina) of Lakeland, FL; twenty grandchildren, who loved their Papaw dearly; forty great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, who all called him Papaw-great.

All services for Earl will be private for family and close friends. Earl will be laid to rest in Burris Chapel Cemetery in Linton, following military graveside rites.
