Ethan Dexter Hayes

Ethan Dexter Hayes, 17, of Switz City, IN, passed from this life on Friday morning, December 18, 2020, in Bicknell, IN.  He was born on March 8, 2003, in Seymour, IN, the son of Amy Hartzburg.

Ethan was a senior at WRV Jr./Sr. High School, a member of the 2021 graduating class and the “Fang Gang” pep club.  He was a vibrant young man who enjoyed playing basketball and video games.  Outdoor activities were special to Ethan and in his leisure time he could be found riding a 4-wheeler or fishing/camping at the river.  Ethan was a great friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Family left to cherish the memories of Ethan include: his guardians Aunt Kylee & Uncle Brian Grover; 2 brothers, Brenden Collins, and Jacob McCarter; 3 sisters, Macy Rush, Abby Hartzburg, and Laney Collins: extended family, Hayden, Bailee & Hailey Grover; maternal grandmother, Patty Hartzburg; extended grandparents, Curt & Teresa Pittman.

Ethan was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Hartzburg.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at 2:00 PM at the Meng Family Funeral Home / Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Alex Rudolph officiating.  Interment will follow at the Scotland Cemetery in Scotland, IN.

Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 2:00 PM on Tuesday. The visitation will be a walk through only, following family wishes.

In compliance with state regulations, social distancing and face masks are required by all attending.
