Geneva M. 'Jean' (Deckard) Hamilton

Geneva M. ‘Jean’ Hamilton, 93, of Linton, Indiana, passed away with loved ones at her side, on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at her home. She was born on September 19, 1925 in Lyons, Indiana to Charlie and Gladys (Cramer) Deckard. She married Willard J. Hamilton on December 21, 1943.

Jean was a member of the Linton United Methodist Church and was involved with several community groups. She was president of Hamilton Equipment Inc. with 43 years of service when she retired in 2014.

Survivors include: one son, Bill D. (Sheri) Hamilton of Lyons; grandson, Andrew Hamilton of Lyons and sister-in-law, Mary Deckard of Ft. Smith, AR.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willard Hamilton and brother, Dr. Edward Deckard.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton with David Smith officiating. Jean will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 18 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Linton United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
