Gordon L. McElravy

Gordon L. McElravy, 93, of Sandborn, Indiana, passed from this life, on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon, Indiana. He was born on March 21, 1928, in Jewett, Illinois, to Miles M. ‘Doc’ and Mary (Kingrey) McElravy. Gordon’s mother passed at his birth, his father later married Neenah S. (Bailey). Gordon married the love of his life, Judith M. (Corbin) McElravy on August 6, 1971.

Gordon was a farmer and made his career as an over the road truck driver for REA Co., where he had driven with over 1 million miles, accident free. After his retirement, he drove for Huey Farms and AM Risher Trucking. Gordon had a lot of friends in the Sandborn area, and he will be missed.

Family left to cherish the memory of Gordon include: daughter, Donna McElravy of Oklahoma and stepson, Allen Davidson of Sandborn; brother, Darrell (Nancy) McElravy of Avon; sister, Louise Nebergall of Bloomington and sister-in-law, Lela McElravy of Odon.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, Neenah, his wife, Judith McElravy, daughter, Mary Jane Hall, and brother Donald McElravy.

Funeral services to honor the life of Gordon will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Meng Family Funeral Home in Odon with Bryan Sanders officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Gordon will be laid to rest privately, in Sugarland Memory Gardens in Washington.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sandborn First Christian Church, 118 N. Anderson St., Sandborn, IN 47578. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
