Obituary

James E. Friede, 65, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Glenburn Nursing Center in Linton. He was born on August 21, 1956 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Ralph E. and Lynda R. (Guthrie) Kerns.

Jim was a veteran of the US Army, serving with the Military police and was a member of Mensa International. He owned and operated Jim’s Petro Plus in Linton for 17 years. Jim retired in 2016.

Family left to cherish the memory of Jim include: two daughters, Jessica R. Friede and spouse, Trevor Pattillo of Worthington and Sara Friede of Evansville; one grandson, Micale Harrison; his father, Ralph Kerns of Terre Haute; one sister, Sharon M. (Greg) Andis of Columbus, IN; three brothers, Gary R. Kerns of Worthington, Jeffrey L. Friede of Jasper and Robert C. (Joy) Friede of Bedford.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Lynda R., his adopted father, Robert L. Friede and his partner, Sue Wood.

In keeping with Jim’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
