Jay Ronnie Williams Sr.

Jay Ronnie Williams Sr., 85, of Bruceville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Freelandville Community Home. He was born on February 7, 1937 in Bicknell, Indiana to Rebert Paul and Marjorie (Wampler) Williams. Jay married his loving wife, Donna Sue (Hatton) Williams on December 16, 1956.

Jay retired from the US Air Force having served his country for 23 years and then was a manager for Highway Oil gas station in Vincennes retiring in 1977 with several years of service. He was a member of the Vincennes Free Methodist Church, the American Legion Post #73 and VFW Post #1157, all in Vincennes. Jay enjoyed playing the saxophone for the Hoosier Swing band for many years and mowing yards for himself and for others.

Family left to cherish the memory of Jay include: two sons, Michael J. (Tonya) Williams of Sandborn and Jay Ronnie (Sherry) Williams Jr. of Bruceville; daughter, Kelli Burkhart of Edwardsport; grandchildren, Shaun & Jennifer Williams, Samantha & Josh Smith, Jacob & Becky Williams, Sarah & Nick Rehwald, Brianna Williams, Douglas Atkins, Jay & Cassidy Atkins and Donna & John Maloy. Also surviving is seventeen great-grandchildren.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Donna Williams and a brother, Jan Williams.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Royal Oaks Cemetery in Bruceville with Bryan Sanders officiating. Jay will be laid to rest following military graveside rites by the Vincennes All Weather Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Monday at the cemetery.
