Jeanette (Apple) Goodman

Jeanette Goodman, 86, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. Jeanette was born on February 1, 1934 in Sandborn, Indiana to Roy S. and Ruby H. (Hash) Apple. She married the love of her life, Norvin C. Goodman on July 20, 1952.

Jeanette was a member of the Linton First United Methodist Church. Family was her pride and joy and first love. She enjoyed riding their Goldwing Motorcycle, knitting and reading. Jeanette retired in 1994 from Peoples Trust Co. Bank with 25 years of service.

Family left to cherish the memory of Jeanette include: her husband of 67 years, Norvin C. Goodman; two daughters, Kathy (Wayne) Elliott of Linton and Carol (Paul) Dell of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Josh Elliott, Kylie (Michael) Murphy and Noah Dell; two brothers, Max (Barbara) Apple of Greenwood and Carl (Donna) Apple of Sandborn; sister-in-law, Rita (Larry) Smith of Linton; several nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services to honor the life of Jeanette will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Ben Biggs officiating. Jeanette will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19 and from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
