John Kristen Bedwell, 46, of Terre Haute, formerly of Linton, Indiana, passed away unexpectantly, on December 2, 2024, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born on December 20, 1977, in Evansville, Indiana to Harry J. and Connie C. (Cox) Bedwell.

John was a member of the Carpenters Union #133, where he worked as a Lead Safety Instructor. He was 1 of only 5 in the United States with the teaching credentials he had attained. He loved gardening, reading, cooking, being everyone’s friend, spending time with his family and friends, especially his union buddies. John described himself as a “Hammer swinger, book reader, avid wearer of many hats. An old soul with the mind of a child.”

Family members to cherish the memories of John include: his parents, Harry and Connie Bedwell of Linton; maternal grandmother, Ruth Wilson of Linton; sister, Michaela (Ashley) Ellett; nieces, Jasmine May and Rylee Ellett; nephew, Andrew Ellett. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harry J. and Pauline Bedwell and maternal grandfather, Alva Cox.

Graveside services to honor the life of John will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery in Linton with Pastor Doug Cassell officiating.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton.
