John D. Holcomb

John D. Holcomb, 64, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born on September 20, 1956 in Linton to Ralph E. and Cathern E. (Mathena) Holcomb. John married Kimberley J. (Cox) Holcomb on June 11, 2016.

John was a member of American Legion Post #22 and Moose Lodge #1434, where he served as Administrator and Governor. John owned and operated Rid-All Termite and Pest Control. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren and loved attending their sporting events.

Family left to cherish the memory of John include: his wife, Kim Holcomb; two daughters, Leahann (Steve) Mize and Olivia (Tad) VanHorn, both of Jasonville; step-son, Shawn (Bonnie) Helterbrand of Cloverdale; grandchildren, Jada Huff, Alayna Mize, Gunner VanHorn, Kelsey and Wyatt Helterbrand; sister, Rae Ann (Darrell) McKinley; close nephews, Tom, Tim and Brandon Holcomb; several additional nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Connie Hibbard; three brothers, Tom Holcomb, Stephen Holcomb and Robert ‘Gene’ Holcomb.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. John will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.

In compliance with state regulations, social distancing and face masks are required by all attending. Additional regulations are allowing only fifty (50) individuals in the funeral home at one time.
