John Landon Obituary

John P. Landon, 76, of Westphalia, IN passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Life’s Journey Hospice in Avon, IN.  He was born in Murray, KY, on August 17, 1944 to Edward and Maudine (Jones) Landon.  He married Nancy (Campbell) Landon on October 20, 1997.

John was a veteran of the US Army, Vietnam Era.  After 30 years of service, he retired from high line electrical construction.  John was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, IBEW, Past Post Commander Elnora American Legion Post #245, Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR and the CUBS.

Family left to cherish John’s memory include: his wife, Nancy; daughter, Stacy Brock of Plainfield; grandchildren, Jaden Brock, Reese Brock; brothers, Michael (Rose) Landon of Haslet, TX, Terry Landon of Lone Oak, KY; sisters, Sandra (Marty) Johnson of Calvert City, KY, and Ramona (TJ) Horn of Benton, KY. Also, survived by several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Salem United Church of Christ in Westphalia, IN with Pastor Jesse Letourneau officiating.  John will be laid to rest in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery following military rites by the Elnora American Legion Post #245 and Odon VFW Post #9627.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday at the church.
