Karen Goodman Obituary

Karen L. Goodman, 79, of Linton, Indiana passed away with her loving family by her side, on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon. She was born on September 8, 1941, in Sullivan, Indiana, to Donald and Edith (Gambill) Scamihorn. Karen married Richard M. Goodman on September 5, 1964.

Karen was a member of the Sullivan Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She worked as a teller at Citizen’s National Bank/ Regions Bank for many years where she greeted everyone with a smile and knew every child’s favorite flavor of sucker. Karen loved to “dress to the nines”, was an avid IU Basketball fan and enjoyed shopping, traveling, cooking and hosting family gatherings.

Family left to cherish the memories of Karen include: her husband, Richard ‘Dick’ Goodman; daughter, Jill (Chuck) Wilkes of Linton; son, Byron (Shana) Goodman of Linton; grandchildren, Trent (Katie) Wilkes, Madison Wilkes, Reuben Goodman, and Aniston Goodman; and sister, Lynn Imel of Anderson as well as many nieces, nephews who loved coming to Aunt Karen’s.

Karen was preceded in death by: her parents; her brother, Gordon; infant grandson, Quinton Charles Wilkes and nephew, Donald Scamihorn.

Cremation was chosen per Karen’s wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Roy Clark Community Building in Linton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ketcham Memorial Center through the funeral home.
