Loretta M. McDaniels, 82, passed away Friday, March 13, 2020 at Samaritan Retirement Community. She was born on March 14, 1937 in Greene County, Indiana to William and M. Mildred (Blough) Schmitt.  Loretta married, the love of her life, James E. McDaniels on July 9, 1955, who preceded her in death.

Loretta was a member of Linton First Christian Church and Beta Sigma Phi Chapter XP3576.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening and her flowers.  She also enjoyed her pet rabbits.

Family left to cherish Loretta’s memory include: one son, Steven E. McDaniels of Linton; two grandchildren, Justin Leigh and Ashley Williams; great-grandchildren, Elora and Fiona; sisters, Arlene (Larry) Poe of Linton, Joyce (Dave) Rogerson of Jasonville, her nieces and nephews.

Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and daughter Linda A. Williams.

Funeral services to honor the life of Loretta will be at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Warren Shake officiating. Loretta will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Beta Sigma Phi Scholarship Fund in memory of Loretta.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
