Marie (Thomas) Markle

Helen Marie Markle, 105, of Linton, Indiana, went to meet her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at her home. She was born on August 5, 1915, in Jasonville, Indiana to Claude and Cora F. (Zurcher) Thomas, Sr. Marie married Charles Wilbur ‘Wib’ Markle on January 6, 1934.

Marie was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. Marie farmed with her husband and was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her home and family.

Family left to cherish the memory of Marie include: two sons, John W. Markle and Roger (Shelly) Markle, both of Linton; one daughter, Kathy Jackson of Linton; five grandchildren, Thad Walton, Steve Markle, Sherry Eckert, Niki Tennant and Jessica Markle; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Richardson, Miles and Nora Tennant; two sisters-in-law, Naomi Thomas and Betty Thomas of Jasonville.

Marie was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Wilbur Markle; daughter-in-law, Iris Markle; brothers, Claude Thomas, Jr., Cletus Thomas, Wayne Thomas, Walter Thomas, Gerald Thomas and Harold Thomas; sisters, Dorothy Keller, Kate Targett and Betty Lou Feuquay.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM on Monday, September 14, 2020, at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland with Pastor Doug Cassel officiating.

There will be no public viewing.

The family kindly asks that you please wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 12970 W 500 N, Linton, IN 47441. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
