Marla Sue (Hastings) Owen, 71, of Jasonville, Indiana, passed from this life, on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Sullivan, Indiana. She was born on November 1, 1948 in Linton, Indiana to Herbert and Mabel Irene (Sims) Hastings.

Marla was a member of the Sandborn Christian Church and had also attended the First United Church of Christ in Clay City. She was a member of the VFW Post #7118 Ladies’ Auxiliary and the American Legion Post #22 Ladies’ Auxiliary. Marla had an Associate Degree in Business Management and had worked as a manager at Motel 6.

Family left to cherish the memory of Marla include: one son, William M. (Jenny) Owen of Jasonville; one daughter, Karen S. (Eric) Cross-Krockenberger of Terre Haute; six grandchildren, Dalton, Aubrie, Josie, Nathan, Colin and Cooper; one brother, Michael (Donna) Hastings of Edwardsport and one sister, Patricia (Russ) Perkins of Sandborn.

Marla was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Mabel Hastings and one daughter, Tuovia Marie Amerman.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Bryan Sanders officiating. Marla will be laid to rest in Sandborn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sandborn Christian Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
