Mary E. Alderson, 92, of Linton, IN, passed from this life, on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Glenburn Nursing Facility in Linton. She was born on June 15, 1932, in Linton, IN, to Edson Rose and Bertha Madeline (Moore) Rose. Mary married Herbert ‘Bruce’ Alderson on October 23, 1948, and this union was blessed with three children, Brucetta, Eddy, and Bruce Jr, ‘Herb’.
Mary worked at the Keller Chair Factory in Linton and later, the Sunbeam Plant. She was a member of the Breath of Life Church in Linton and loved the Lord with all her heart. Mary was a woman who used the Bible to lead her through life and a great prayer warrior, who believed in the “power of prayer”. She was known as an excellent cook as attested by her family, church members, and anyone who had the opportunity to taste a dish she prepared. Mary loved her family, especially her wonderful grandchildren.
Those who will cherish memories of Mary include: a daughter, Brucetta Jane (John) May of Linton; two sons, Eddy Alderson of Linton and Bruce Jr, ‘Herb’ (Nancy) Alderson of Washington; grandchildren: Nathan (Amy), Jennifer (Ryan), Leslie (Chris), Derrick (Rachel), Jonni, Jamie, and Brian’s wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren: Landon, Macy, Ally, Grant, Kohen, Rylee, Loren, Layla, Molly, Avery, Aunalee, Allyson, Katlyn, Nicole, Kaylee, Kyra, Emma, Evalynn, Ella and Ryan; and a brother, Archie Rose of Switz City.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruce Alderson; grandson, Brian Lee Alderson; and brothers, David and Raymond Rose.
Funeral Services to honor Mary’s life will begin at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton, with Pastors Ron and Cathy Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21, prior to the 1:00 PM service at the funeral home in Linton.
