Our mother, Mary Ellen ‘Dubbie’ Landis, 81, of Linton, Indiana, went to be with the Lord and her heavenly family, on February 25, 2025 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute. She was born on August 5, 1943 in Princeton, Indiana to Darwin L. and Mary Kathleen (Jackson) Weisgerber. Mary married James E. ‘Jim’ Landis on August 25, 1961. They were married for 60 years before his passing.

‘Dubbie’, as all of her friends knew her, never met a stranger, was quick with a joke, and loved her animals, especially her cats. She and Jim always welcomed one and all into their home and made you feel like part of the family. She was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Family left to cherish the memories of Dubbie include: two sons, J.B. (Paula) Landis and Kelly Landis, both of Linton; two grandsons, Jake (Heather) Landis and Luke Landis; seven great-grandchildren, Kayden, Kylie, Skyler, Summer, Kinley, Elania and Evan.

Dubbie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Landis and sister, Caroline Ann Weisgerber-Waih.

Funeral services to honor the life of Dubbie will be at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Jeff Fulk officiating. Dubbie will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
