Nancy Eleanor (Mullis) Orr

Nancy Eleanor (Mullis) Orr, age 75, of Cloverdale, Indiana, formerly of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Summerfield Healthcare Center in Cloverdale. She was born on January 19, 1947, to Harry and Evelyn (Cullison) Mullis.

Nancy was a 1965 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School and received her AS in accounting from Vincennes University in 1990. She was an active member of Quilter’s at Heart Quilt Club in Greene County up until her illness overtook her ability to sew. She was a past member of the Linton Park Board and was active in Girl Scouts as a youth and as an adult. Nancy was an extremely accomplished seamstress, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, community volunteer, and friend who loved to dance. 

Family left to cherish the memories of Nancy include: her daughter, Rebecca D. Whitaker Mayfield (Dewayne) of Linton; son, Rob ‘Fatz’ Whitaker (April) of Linton; granddaughter, Rylie Daisha Mayfield (Brandon Ravellette) of Michigan City, IN; grandson, Rogan Demery Mayfield of Linton; step-granddaughter, Haley Scott of Carlisle, Indiana; step-grandson, Markie Scott of Linton; close family friend, Trish Whitaker; brother, Terry Joe Mullis (Nancy) of Linton and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Evelyn (Cullison) Mullis; a nephew, Andrew Michael Mullis and a close family friend, Charles Tincher. 

The family is honoring Nancy’s wishes to be cremated and there will be no public services at this time.
