Otto Raines Obituary

Otto Raines, 88, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born on May 15, 1936, in Hidalgo, Kentucky, to Hubert and Abbie (Harmon) Raines. Otto married Judy A. (Hopkins) Raines on March 23, 1958.


Otto was a U. S. Army veteran.  After serving his country, he worked in construction and retired in 2001. Otto spent much of his leisure time doing what he loved best, fishing and hunting.  His favorite type of music was Bluegrass.


Family left to cherish memories of Otto include: his wife, Judy A Raines; a son, Otto Lee “Bub” (Shelly) Raines of Bedford; daughters, Fonnie (Farris) Blevins of Eubank, KY,  Cynthia (Mike) Miller of Richmond, KY, and Teresa (Bill) Mason of Linton; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.


Otto was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob Raines and Roscoe Raines; sister, Norma Jean Jolley; and a great granddaughter, Braylee Clark.


Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Pastor Shawn Farris officiating. Otto will be laid to rest in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.


Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, the time of service, on Monday, February 17, at the funeral home. Otto will be honored with Military Rites presented before the funeral. 


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
