Pansy 'Pat' Louise (Cunningham) Clayton

Pansy ‘Pat’ Louise Clayton, 93, of West Lafayette, IN, went to rest with Jesus on May 22, 2022. She was born April 16, 1929, in Indianapolis, IN, to Josephine Alice (Curtis) Cunningham and Clarence B. Cunningham.

Pansy was a member of the Presbyterian Church.  She was a Cub Scout leader, 4-H leader, PTA board member, and lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, and puzzles. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family.

Educated in Indianapolis, Indiana schools, she worked at L.S. Ayres before meeting the love of her life, Donald F. Clayton.  Pansy (Cunningham) married Donald Clayton on February 7, 1949, in Indianapolis.  He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2016.  She was a homemaker and loving mother to their three sons, who survive her: Dr. Donald (Mindy) Clayton of Lafayette, IN; Dr. Michael (Terri) Clayton of Danville, IL; and Gerald (Janet Lemen) Clayton of Bloomington, IN. Also surviving are six beloved grandchildren:  Tom Clayton, Missy (Andrew) Buche, Lauren (Tyler) Rossi, Joanna Clayton, Sheila Clayton, and Charlotte (Joel) Lelliott and six great-grandchildren:  Allye Clayton, Isabel Buche, Isaac Buche, Jacob Buche, Sophia Guyette Clayton, and Zosia Lelliott. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and grandson, Andrew Clayton.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Anderson-Poindexter Funeral Home, 89 C St NW Linton, IN 47441. Burial will follow in the Clayton Family Cemetery, West 5th St. (2 miles North of St Rd 54), Linton, IN.
