Polly Ann Smith, 70, of Linton, Indiana, passed from this life at her residence in Linton, on March 10, 2025. She was born on December 7, 1954, in Wayne, West Virgina, to Fannie (Thompson) York.  On June 2, 1971, Polly Ann married Ira Smith.

Polly was a homemaker who loved gardening.  She enjoyed the outdoors, especially swimming in her pool.  Her favorite time was any time she could spend with her family.

Family who will cherish the memories of Polly include: two sons, Ira (Crystal) Smith and Justin (Courtney) Smith, both of Linton; three daughters, Sarah (JJ) Wilson of Linton, Paula (Kris) Smothers of Centerville, IA, and Malissa (Roy) Moorman of Linton; 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; a brother, Jamie York; two sisters, Christine York and Amanda Stiltner; and many nieces and nephews.

Polly was preceded in death by grandsons, Branden Benson, Jordan Smith and Dakota Smith.  

Funeral services to honor Polly’s life will be at 1:00 PM Friday, March 14, 2025, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel. Polly will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may come from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
