Richard A. Lohr, 57, of Switz City, Indiana, passed away peacefully, with family members by his side, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on Thursday, March 14, 2019. He was born on March 2, 1962, in Linton, Indiana, the son of Leroy E. and Margie E. (Fitzpatrick) Lohr. He married Judy A. (Fisher) on August 7, 1987.
Richard was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church, Beta Theta Phi Fraternity, and the Loyal Order of the Moose #1434. He had worked at Boston Scientific for 15 years. Richard was an avid sports fan and liked to play golf. He, also, enjoyed fishing and gardening in his spare time.
Family left behind to cherish Richard’s memory include: wife, Judy A. Lohr, 4 step-sons: Ryan (Sarah) Swaby, Jon (Beth) Swaby, James Swaby, and Jeff (Martina) Swaby, all of Linton; seven step-grandchildren: Ian, Erinn, Breanna, Brittany, AJ and Alden Swaby and Ellery Steele; two step-great grandchildren; and two brothers: Larry Lohr of Martinsville and David L. (Linda) Lohr of Florida. Several nieces and nephews, also, survive.
Richard was preceded in death by: his parents and a sister, Diana Lawless.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, in Linton, with Pastor David Tyra officiating. Richard will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2019, and again on Monday, March 18, 2019, until the time of service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Richard to the ALS Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
