Ricky Turchi Obituary

Ricky L. Turchi, 69, of Linton, IN, passed from this life with family by his side on Friday, July 3, 2020, at his home.  He was born on May 24, 1951, in Clinton, IN, the son of John Lewis and Elizabeth Jean (Tyler) Turchi.  He married the love of his life, Linda B. Conklin on May 22, 1970. 

Ricky proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War Era.  After the Air Force, he worked at NSWC in transportation as a mechanic and supervisor for 42 years and retired in 2014.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #22 for 51 years.  Ricky spent much of his leisure time playing golf and supporting the Phil Harris Golf Course. He loved Linton High School sports, especially Miner Football and was an avid follower of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. 

Family left to cherish Ricky’s memory includes: his loving wife, Linda;  a son, Michael (Rayanne) Turchi of West Lafayette; seven grandchildren: Kelsi, Dylan, Zoie, Allie, Anthony, Clarice and Alonzo;  a brother, John (Susan) Turchi of Webster, TX;  and a sister, Sheri Young of Clermont, FL. 

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services to honor Ricky’s memory will be at the Meng Family Funeral Home / Anderson-Poindexter Chapel on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Dick Smith officiating.  The Linton American Legion Post #22 will offer Military Graveside Rites as Ricky is laid to rest in the Linton Fairview Cemetery. 

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at the funeral home. The family has politely requested that all attendees respect the current social distancing plan and please consider wearing a mask for everyone's protection.

Contributions to honor Ricky’s memory may be made to the Linton Miner Football Team or the Greene County Humane Society.
