Robert J. Hanna

Robert J. Hanna, 89, of Carlsbad, California, formerly of Plainfield, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Tri City Medical in San Diego, California.  Robert was born on March 27, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Preston and Emily (Bissett) Hanna.  He married Mary (Musselman) on April 13, 1957.

Robert was a US Air Force Korean War veteran. He worked as an Insurance Broker for many years and was a member of the Plainfield Masonic Lodge #653, F. & A.M., Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine of Indianapolis and Past President Vista Valley Country Club, Vista, CA.

Family left to cherish the memory of Robert include: his wife, Mary Hanna; son, Scott R. Hanna of Carlsbad, CA; daughters, Penny Hanna of Whidbey, WA, Robin Hanna of Carlsbad, CA; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.               

Robert was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Donald Hanna and sister, Claire Lohman.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the Newberry United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Bruner officiating. Robert will be laid to rest in Newberry Cemetery in Newberry, Indiana following military rites by the Odon VFW Post #9627.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the church.
