Robert D Richards

Robert (Bob) D. Richards, 86, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away at Garden Villa Nursing home in Bloomington, on Saturday, September 19, 2020.  He was born on June 23, 1934 to Robert and Nancy Mae (Jerrells) Richards in Akron, Ohio and later moved to Sandborn.  He married Donna (Thacker) Richards on June 1, 2002.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.

In addition to his wife, Donna, family left to cherish the memory of Bob include: one son, David Richards; one daughter, Lizzy (Mark) Rinehart; three grandchildren, Luke (Caitlin) Rinehart, Sara (Matt) Roles, Rachel (Brian) Elmore; four great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters. Also, three stepchildren, Gregg (Vickie) Britton, Angie (Kelly) Holland and Shannon (Max) Bland, three step-grandchildren, Jessica Britton, Nate Holland and Nicholas Bland, two step-great-granddaughters and two step great-grandsons.

Bob was a minister of Disciples of Christ Christian Church in Lyons, Indiana.  He was a Senior Parole Agent for the State of Indiana.  He received the Sagamore of The Wabash award.

Bob will be remembered by anyone who knew him as a caring, kind individual who believed everyone had some good instilled into them.

There will be a memorial service for Bob on Friday, October 9, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Sandborn Christian Church, with Bryan Sanders officiating.
