Ruth Marie (Carr) Jerrell

Ruth Marie Jerrell, 74, of Linton, Indiana, passed from this life on Friday, January 29, 2021, at her home. She was born on February 22, 1946, in Linton, Indiana, to Richard L. and Mary P. (Hancock) Carr.  Ruth married Robert E. Jerrell on October 21, 1963.

Ruth was of Christian faith and worked at Glenburn Nursing Home in housekeeping with 16 years of service.  She retired in 2016.  Ruth was a wonderful homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.  She loved working in the yard and spending time with her loving family.  Quality time spent with grandchildren and great granddaughter, Caroline, was important and extremely gratifying to Ruth.  She will be sorely missed.  

Family left to cherish memories of Ruth include: her husband, Robert Jerrell; two daughters, Mary Lynn (Robert) House of Dugger and Tammy Jo Hale of Linton; grandchildren, Meghan House of Linton, Taylor House of Dugger, and Luke Hale of Indianapolis; and great granddaughter, Caroline.  

Ruth was preceded in death by:  her parents, and two brothers, Charles Carr and Richard Carr.

A funeral service honoring Ruth’s life will take place at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Rev. Dick Smith officiating. Ruth will be laid to rest at Linton Fairview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In compliance with state regulations, social distancing and face masks are required by all attending. Additional regulations are allowing only fifty (50) individuals in the funeral home at one time.
