Ruth Katherine (Mabes) Pahmeier

Ruth Katherine (Mabes) Pahmeier, 99, of Westphalia, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Ketcham Memorial Center in Odon. She was born on January 9, 1921, in Freelandville, Indiana to Benjamin & Anna (Lichte) Mabes. Ruth became the wife of Velmer V. ‘Bud’ Pahmeier on November 29, 1942.

Ruth was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, where she was a member of the Women’s Guild. Ruth was a homemaker, mother, and a farmer’s wife. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting.

Family left to cherish the memory of Ruth include: two sons, Earl (Theresa) Pahmeier and Ken Pahmeier, both of Sandborn; two daughters, Phyllis Jackson of Pittsboro, Indiana and Carolyn (Cary) Dohner of Terre Haute, Indiana; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband, Bud; one sister, Mary Lou Mabes; two brothers, Elmer and Milton Mabes.

A private service for immediate family, to honor the life of Ruth will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel.

Visitation for immediate family will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
